BioXmark® is visible in all relevant imaging modalities (X-ray, CBCT, CT, MRI and ultrasonography)
With approximately 1,000HU of contrast it is clearly visible on CBCT even in small volumes (10µL). It has a low degree of beam hardening artifacts compared to metal based fiducial markers. Shape, size and contrast level is stable over time (see data below) and migration is highly unlikely due to the chemical design of BioXmark® .
BioXmark® doesn’t contain water and as a result it produces a hypo-intense (dark spot) contrast under MRI. All materials are nonferrous and non-magnetic. Hence, BioXmark® is not susceptible to magnetically induced displacement forces and torque.
BioXmark® ’s visibility in all above mentioned imaging modalities has been verified in both phantom studies, animal models and in clinical trials.
The pictures below show the visibility of BioXmark® in CBCT, CT and MRI (Click for larger images).
The videos below show that BioXmark® is clearly visible in fluoroscopy and is stable in size and shape over time (fluoroscopy recorded at day 2, 16 and 30.
