Easy injection of BioXmark®
BioXmark® is provided in sterile one-point cut glass ampoules of 1mL each. It is a liquid fiducial marker, which makes injection easy and free from technical problems and repeated needle loading. The size of the marker can be controlled based on the injection volume, proving maximum flexibility for operator. Every health care professional who take needle biopsies possesses the skills to inject BioXmark®.
BioXmark® can be injected either percutaneously or using an endoscope assisted injection method (EUS, EBUS etc.). Needles as thin as ≤25G can be used for injection.
The two videos below show how BioXmark® is easily handled and inserted.
For optimal injection of BioXmark, we recommend using:
- A standard 1mL syringe (with Luer-Lock for endoscope assisted injection). Syringes larger than 1mL will increase the back pressure and make injection more difficult.
- An 18G needle for filling the syringe. Using thinner needles than 18G will significantly increase the time needed for filling the syringe.
- For percutaneous injection: A thinner insertion needle of choice – you can use needle as thin as 25G.
- For endoscope assisted injection: One aspiration needle/endoscopic needle – the needle size can be as thin as 22G.
IMPORTANT: Please note that for endoscope assisted injection it is important to make sure that no BioXmark® is left on the outside of the needle before the needle is inserted into the endoscope. BioXmark® is very sticky and can prevent free passage of the needle inside the endoscope which may damage the endoscope. Please make sure to clean the needle tip with an EtOH wipe.
